The 2016 edition of U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers® has ranked Steeg Law Firm as a Metropolitan Tier 1 Law Firm in New Orleans Real Estate Law and Metropolitan Tier 1 Law Firm in New Orleans Litigation – Real Estate. Steeg Law was also ranked a Metropolitan Tier 2 Law Firm in New Orleans for Litigation – Commercial Litigation and Metropolitan Tier 3 Law Firm in New Orleans for Litigation – Bankruptcy.

Steeg Law has been honored every year since 2010, the first year that Best Lawyers began including law firms in their rankings.

To be eligible for a ranking, a firm must have a lawyer listed in The Best Lawyers in America©, which recognizes the top 4 percent of practicing attorneys in the United States. Steeg Law has five attorneys recognized by Best Lawyers, including Robert M. Steeg, Charles L. Stern, Jr., Randy Opotowsky, Lillian E. Eyrich and David A. Martinez.

Mr. Steeg is one of a select group of lawyers who has been included for 20 years. In addition, three Steeg Law attorneys have previously been named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year,” New Orleans, Louisiana, an honor that only a single lawyer in each practice area, in each community receives.

  • Charles L. Stern, Jr. – Best Lawyers 2015 New Orleans Litigation – Real Estate “Lawyer of the Year,” New Orleans, LA

  • Lillian E. Eyrich – Best Lawyers 2012 “New Orleans Best Lawyers Real Estate Law Lawyer of the Year,” New Orleans, LA

Per Best Lawyers, firms included in the 2016 “Best Law Firms” list are recognized for professional excellence with persistently impressive ratings from clients and peers. Achieving a tiered ranking signals a unique combination of quality law practice and breadth of legal expertise.

The 2016 rankings are based on the highest number of participating firms and highest number of client ballots on record. Over 21,000 attorneys provided almost 700,000 law firm assessments, and over 8,000 clients provided more than 47,000 evaluations.

Ranked firms, presented in tiers, are listed on a national and/or metropolitan scale. Receiving a tier designation reflects the high level of respect a firm has earned among other leading lawyers and clients in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism and their integrity.
