This past holiday season, Steeg Law continued the firm’s annual tradition of participation in Catholic Charities “Adopt a Family,” a gift-giving program to help families in need.

“It was 14 years ago that everyone decided that we wanted to look into how we might go about finding a family to work with and Catholic Charities was one the groups we contacted,” said Jan LeBlanc, a paralegal at Steeg Law. “We found that Catholic Charities was well practiced in assisting persons and families in need on a daily basis, 365 days a year. They were set up in such a way that it made it easy for a first time group like ours to participate.”

It has become the highlight of the year for everyone at Steeg Law as they gather in the conference room to wrap the gifts and assemble the packages of food and gift cards they have purchased. This past Christmas they shopped for and delivered—with much love and care—four beautiful new bicycles, helmets, bike locks, a football, a soccer ball, a miniature pool table, a remote control car and helicopter, $420.00 in cash, and a Walmart gift card for a family which consists of a single mom and 3 children.

“We simply have the desire to make the holidays special for those not so fortunate and we have done, and continue to do, just that,” said LeBlanc. “We all take great pride in what we are able to accomplish together each and every year. I couldn’t recommend this program more to any firm or company that might be looking to give back at what can be a difficult time of year for many families.”
