Recent Transactions and Cases
- Represented the developer and issued owner’s and lender’s title insurance in connection with the development of a multi-million-dollar, ground-up new apartment complex in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana
- Represented the purchaser of a property in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, to be utilized as part of an educational facility, and issued owner’s title insurance to the purchaser
- Represented the lender and issued lender’s title insurance in connection with a loan for the refinancing of a large medical office building on the West Bank, Orleans Parish, Louisiana
- Served as title agent and issued owner’s title insurance with respect to a major chemical facility in central Louisiana
- Represented shopping center owner in Metairie, Louisiana, in connection with negotiation and consummation of a lease with a national retailer of 15,000 square feet of space
- Successfully arrested the Sheriff’s sale of property worth over $1mm to prevent a lender’s mortgage ranking from being “wiped out” by the sale, where another mortgage had been improperly recorded ahead of the lender’s mortgage
- Successfully obtained the granting of a writ of certiorari by the Louisiana Supreme Court that reversed the Court of Appeal and reinstated the trial court’s correct judgment that a suit for damages and specific performance of a lease does not affect the title to the leased property, nor does it assert a mortgage or privilege on the leased property, and therefore a notice of lis pendens concerning the lawsuit was improper
