Steeg Law has a long-standing relationship with New Orleans CREW, the premier commercial real estate association in the Greater New Orleans Area for women from all disciplines of commercial real estate, both through sponsorship and participation. Senior associate Lillian Eyrich is a member, Past Secretary and Past Board Member of CREW.

This year, New Orleans CREW is once again helping to raise money for Second Harvest to support its mission to fight hunger across South Louisiana, by raising awareness for the organization’s Rubber Duck Derby.

When you adopt your duck for just $5, you provide 20 meals for children, families, and seniors facing hunger. With the record hunger created by COVID-19, Second Harvest needs your help more than ever.

When you adopt your $5 duck, you will have a chance to win the $5,000 grand prize, a $250 gift certificate to Delta World Tire, a $1,000 gift certificate to Zuppardo’s Family Market & other great prizes!

About the Rubber Duck Derby

Second Harvest will live stream the drawing of the winning ducks from a special broadcast at their facility in Elmwood on Saturday, September 17, 2020. The organization has decided to not host a public event, due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.

This year’s event could be the most powerful derby yet — but only if caring, compassionate people like you join the race.

About Second Harvest Food Bank

One in five households in Louisiana is at risk of hunger. Across Louisiana and the region, the rising cost of food, housing, and utilities, coupled with high unemployment and low-wage jobs have increased the need for emergency food assistance. Many families are asking for help for the first time. When bills loom and impossible decisions must be made, grocery lists are often cut first. Meals are skipped. Parents go without to make sure their children are fed.

Second Harvest Food Bank is leading the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response. Second Harvest provides food and support to 700+ community partners and programs across 23 parishes.

Through their food distribution programs, community kitchen meal service, nutrition education, and public benefits assistance, we are helping to create pathways out of poverty. Every year, Second Harvest secures millions of pounds of food that otherwise would have gone to waste. Their work helps ensure that these meals make it to the dinner tables of thousands of families struggling with hunger in South Louisiana.
