New Orleans’ Entrepreneurial Boom Featured on NPR
9 Jan 2012
“As captured in NPR’s recent story, In Katrina’s Wake, New Orleans Enjoys Startup Boom, many of the city’s business executives and entrepreneurs share a sense of optimism that, for the first time in years, the business climate in New Orleans is finally pointed in the right direction,” says Associate, Zachary H. Kupperman.
Mr. Kupperman, who represents clients in a broad range of legal and business matters, has particular experience in business formation and strategic planning for entrepreneurs and start-ups, and works closely with many of the rising stars of “Silicon Bayou.” He was recently a guest lecturer on “New Ventures” at Tulane University and is also a judge for the 2012 Tulane Business Plan Competition.
According to Mr. Kupperman, “There are more resources than ever for entrepreneurs launching high-growth ventures.” “There is easier access to capital and favorable incentives like the Digital Media and Angel Investor Tax Incentives. Startup accelerators, (Launch Pad Ignition, Idea Village, Edible Enterprises, Social Entrepreneurs of New Orleans), and physical clusters (IP Building, the Bio Innovation Center, Launchpad, Icehouse, Entrepreneurs Row, NASA Michoud, the Exchange Center) also serve as incubators for entrepreneurs to develop products, bounce around ideas, and share resources.”
